HUMAN BODY
TEARS

Dear friends, do you ever wonder why we cry?

The process of producing tears is called lacrimation or lachrymation (from Latin word lacrima, means tear.

THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF TEARS

BASAL TEARS

In healthy mammalian eyes, the cornea is continually kept wet and nourished by basal tears. They lubricate the eyes, and help to keep it clear of dust.

REFLEX TEARS

The second type of tears results from irritation of the eye by foreign particles, or from the presence of irritant substances such as onion vapors, tears gas or pepper spray in the eye's environment, including the cornea, conjunctiva, or nasal mucosa. It can also occur with bright light and hot or peppery stimuli to the tongue and mouth. It is also linked with vomiting, coughing, and yawning. These reflex tears attempt to wash out irritants that may have come into contact with the eyes.

PSYCHIC TEARS

Generally referred to as crying or weeping, happens due to strong emotional stress, anger, suffering of physical pain. Many people will also cry when they are extremely happy.

In Islam, it is good to cry when we realize all our wrong doings, and thus we want to seek forgiveness from ALLAH SWT.

''And when they listen to the revelation received by the Messenger(Muhammad SAW), thou will see their eyes overflowing with tears, for they recognise the truth: they pray: ''Our Lord! We believe; write us down among the witnesses.''  (al-Maaidah:83)
